Time from Inception
Hans Zimmer
Level: Beginner (easy)
In this complete piano tutorial, you'll learn to play "Time," famous from the film Inception, composed by Hans Zimmer.
The song is popular among beginning piano players; it has a beautiful buildup that makes the piece sound increasingly fuller.
It's actually a fairly simple piece of music, consisting of only eight chords that repeat repeatedly. This makes it very easy to learn. You can play the first part with just three fingers, but after that, you'll need a fourth finger, but that's it.
I've created this arrangement for beginners. Start slowly and practice until you can play it solo! Take your ‘time’!
Tips for playing piano
✔ Practice step by step: Repeat the Slow section as many times as needed until you feel comfortable, then move on to the next chapter.
✔ Hands separately first: Start by practicing the right hand (melody), then the left hand, and finally both together.
✔ Play with a partner: One person can play the melody while the other plays the accompaniment—great for learning together!
✔ Practice daily: Even just 15 minutes a day will help you improve steadily.
✔ Take your time: enjoy the process, and have fun playing!
